FAQs
WHAT ARE THE CAMP RATES AND DATES?
For more details on dates and rates, view our dates and rates.
ARE WE A UNIFORMED CAMP?
No. Campers can wear whatever they choose. We provide a camp t-shirt on the first day of camp. We also provide shirts for different special days throughout the summer. Additionally, you will receive information on how to purchase Breezemont swag. We have hats, sweatshirts, etc available for purchase through our website. Although we are not a uniform camp, many campers choose to wear Breezemont gear throughout the summer. On picture day, everyone must wear a Breezemont t-shirt. Staff are required to wear a Breezemont Staff shirt all day – every day.
CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE BUS RIDE TO CAMP?
Campers ride in air-conditioned 18 passenger school buses or 6 passenger SUV’s driven by CDL licensed operators. In addition, there is a Bus Captain to make the ride to camp and home one filled with fun and excitement!
WHAT IF MY CHILD IS A “PICKY-EATER”?
Our menu is designed by a certified nutritionist to be kid-friendly and full variety. We are a 100% NUT FREE camp and can handle any food allergy or dietary restriction. Before the summer, our menu will be posted on our website, and if your child has specific food needs, please call the office to discuss. We have an Allergy specialist on-site each day of the summer to assist division leaders and counselors with camper’s dietary needs. Food orders will be completed on our online portal and there will be a variety of options to accommodate even the pickiest of eaters!
WHO DO I CONTACT IF I HAVE QUESTIONS OR ISSUES?
During the summer, the Breezemont office is opened daily from 7:00 am – 6:30 pm and Gordon is always available to speak with you. If you need to speak with your child’s head counselor or group leader, they will call you back during a break or after the campers head home.
WHO ARE MY CAMPER’S COUNSELORS?
Our counselors are mature and experienced role models who are at camp to make a difference. We are fortunate to have many returning staff members each summer who understand the culture of Breezemont.
WHAT IF MY CHILD IS NOT ATHLETICALLY INCLINED?
The Breezemont schedule is balanced and focused on child development. The core program consists of swimming, creative arts, adventure, and athletics. At each activity, the focus is on participation, effort, and sportsmanship. No matter what the activity, we encourage campers to learn something new under the guidance of our trained activity specialists.
WHAT ARE THE GROUP SIZES?
A typical group has 13-15 campers. Our Pre-K groups are co-ed and the remainder of the groups are single-sex. Each group consists of campers entering the same grade in the fall.
WHAT SHOULD I SEND TO CAMP EACH DAY?
We supply everything your child will need to get through the day. That includes towel service, water/snacks, sunscreen, etc. The only thing we ask you to pack each day is two bathing suits. Enrolled families will receive a detailed list of everything you should send with your child on the first day.
HOW DO YOU CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS AT CAMP?
If a camper has a birthday during the summer, we have a special birthday celebration. During morning announcements, the birthday camper raises the flag and has a photo taken, and then the entire camp sings our camp “Birthday Song”. Throughout the day, our photographer takes a number of candid photos to make the day memorable. There is no need to send in any food, treats, and/or gifts because everything is provided. If any campers in the group have any allergies, we will accommodate their specific needs for the birthday celebration.
HOW CAN I SEE THE CAMP AND TAKE A TOUR?
We are available for personal tours almost any day during the off-season. Please call (914) 367-1936 to book a time that fits your schedule, or fill out this form. We cannot wait to meet you in person!
